BI Lowers Reference Interest Rates To 4.75 Percent
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to lower the benchmark interest rate or BI-Rate by 25 basis points to 4.75 percent.
In addition, it also reduces deposit facility interest rates and lending facility rates to 3.75 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively.
"The Meeting of the Board of Governors (RDG) of Bank Indonesia on September 16 and 17 decided to reduce the BI-Rate by 25 basis points to 4.75 percent," Perry said at a press conference, Wednesday, September.
According to Perry, this decision is in line with joint efforts to encourage nekanomy growth by maintaining a low inflation estimate for 2025 and 2026 in the target set by the government of 2.5 percent plus minus 1 percent.
In addition, as well as maintaining the stability of the rupiah exchange rate which is in accordance with the fundamentals amid global uncertainty which is still high, and the need to continue to contribute to economic growth.
In the future, Perry said, Bank Indonesia will continue to pay close attention to the prospects for necronomy growth and inflation in facilitating the space for the decline in the BI rate by considering the rupiah exchange rate.

In line with that, continued Perry, the expansion of monetary liquidity and loose macroprudential policies continues to be strengthened to lower interest rates, increase liquidity, and encourage financing credit for achieving higher economic growth.
"The payment system policy is also directed to help support economic growth through the expansion of the acceptance of digital payments, as well as strengthening infrastructure and consolidating the industrial structure of payment systems," he said.
According to Perry, the direction of the mix of monetary, macroprudential, and payment systems is to maintain stability in order to strengthen sustainable economic growth.
