Komdigi Collaborates With 16 Digital Platforms To Strengthen Negative Content Moderation Via Security
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital together with 16 digital platforms affirms their commitment to strengthening the handling of online gambling through the implementation of the Content Moderation Compliance System (SAMAN).
Director General of Digital Space Supervision Komdigi Alexander Sabar emphasized that his party had held a meeting with digital platforms to strengthen joint commitments in strengthening efforts to eradicate negative content, especially online gambling.
"Of course this is to protect the community, as well as keep a clean, safe, healthy, and productive digital space in accordance with regulatory regulations," Alex said in a press conference held on Wednesday, September 17 in Jakarta.
According to Alex, the Safe system, which has gone through a pilot period for one year, will be targeted to start running fully next month.
Therefore, in the forum, Komdigi invites all digital platforms to jointly evaluate the implementation of the system.
"We hope that later with various inputs from friends in the operators of this electronic system, then from within we also evaluate this system, this system can run well, we can cover the gaps, and then we hope that next month this system can run fully," he said.

Alex explained, it is possible for Komdigi to automatically send a negative content reduction order to the platform. Content that is included in priority categories such as online gambling and child pornography is mandatory to be handled in a maximum of 1x4 hours, while other negative content within 1x24 hours.
However, Alex said that there is still an appeal mechanism from the platform. So, when there is a request for takedown, but according to the platform's assessment that it is not suitable for takedown, the platform can appeal to Komdigi.
"If according to the platform's assessment is not appropriate or does not violate the provisions in their guidelines, there is an appeal mechanism," he concluded.
