Jakarta Garbage On Eid Day Reaches 2,142 Tons

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Environment Office recorded 2,142 tons of waste produced in the capital on Eid al-Fitr 1442 H, Thursday, May 13. This garbage is carried with a 405 rit garbage truck.

This waste was taken to the Integrated Landfill (TPST) Bantargebang, Bekasi. TPST Bantargebang operates on Eid al-Fitr until 04.00 WIB and reopens at 10.00 WIB.

"As of today dwelling time or the average time of garbage trucks queuing, weighing and unloading garbage there is only 3 hours 47 minutes. This is one of the indicators of management of TPST Bantargebang remains normal", said Head of The Environment Office of DKI Syaripudin in his statement, Friday, May 14.

Accumulated, Syaripudin mentions the garbage of Jakartans sent to Bantargebang during the Eid holidays increased from the previous year.

In addition to the waste produced on Eid-day, Dinas LH also sent a total of 8,713 tons of garbage with 1,580 rit garbage trucks up to Eid D-1.

While based on 2020 data, at the time of H-1 garbage tonnage reached 6,995 tons with 1,299 rit garbage trucks and garbage dropped drastically on Eid day with a tonnage of only 2,195 tons with Ritase 432 rit.

Syaripudin said that garbage tonnage usually decreases during pre and pasca-Eid, but this year there was little change due to the emptying of Dipo and TPS ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

"The tonnage of garbage sent to TPST Bantargebang a few days before Eid al-Fitr increased due to the emptying activities of Dipo and TPS ahead of Eid al-Fitr so it is expected that the garbage truck drivers can interact with family during Eid al-Fitr", he explained.

Syaripudin claimed that the Environment Agency had anticipated the possibility of increasing the tonnage. "We're ready. We have anticipated the pattern and strategy of operations", concluded Syaripudin.
