Victims Died As A Result Of India's Flood Capai 450 People
Nine people have died in various parts of India in the past 24 hours due to heavy rains that continue to flush the South Asian country.
The increase in casualties during the ongoing monsoon season has now exceeded 450 people.
Three deaths were reported in the western states of Maharashtra and northern states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as a result of heavy rains that triggered explosions of clouds, flash floods and landslides.
In Maharashtra, more than 100 people have been evacuated in the past 24 hours, the State Disaster Management Department said on Tuesday.
Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, said the continuous heavy rains since Monday night had caused widespread damage in districts including Mandi, Hamirpur, and Shimla.
He confirmed three people had died in Himachal Pradesh and one person was still missing.
"Rain has caused significant losses both to the soul and property. I have instructed the government to carry out maximum assistance and rescue operations in all affected areas," he said as quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Tuesday, September 16.

The state, which is located in the Himalayan region, was heavily affected by this year's monsoon season, which began in June.
A statement from the Himachal Pradesh disaster authorities on Tuesday stated that the number of deaths from rain, including landslides, in the state ofaka had reached 409 people.
In neighboring Uttarakhand, three additional deaths were recorded due to heavy rains, state broadcaster DD News reported.
Heavy rains that occurred on Monday (15/9) night in the Karligad region sparked a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke with Uttarakhand's Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhani, to evaluate the situation.
The monsoon season, which usually runs from June to September, has caused major damage in northern India, with various incidents of heavy blasphemy, flash floods, and landslides in a number of areas of the country.
In the northern state of Myanmar, the floods triggered by the monsoon season have killed more than 50 people and affected hundreds of thousands of people.
