Apple Finally Explains Reasons For Battery Waste After IOS 26 Update
Jakarta Every time Apple releases a major operating system update, iPhone users often complain that the battery runs out quickly and the phone becomes hotter. Now, Apple has finally given an official explanation as to why it happened after the recently released iOS 26 update, Monday 15 September.
According to Apple, the battery condition that feels more wasteful after the update is not a serious bug, but the impact of the normal process that occurs behind the scenes. Once the system is updated, the iPhone will do a lot of indexing, app adjustments, to optimizing the data. This process makes the device feel a bit slower, hotter, and of course consumes more power.
This phenomenon usually lasts only a few days. However, Apple also emphasizes that not all battery life decreases are temporary. Each big update of iOS brings features and graphics improvements that demand more power from the device. This means that there is a possibility that power consumption will indeed increase compared to the previous version.

Apple reminds users to charge more frequently in the first few days after updates, especially for those who use iPhones for important work or online transportation services. Bringing power banks is also recommended not to run out of battery while away from power sources.
In addition, Apple again reminds about good 'filling hygiene'. For example, if you are used to charging overnight, don't put your iPhone under a pillow or in a closed place because it can increase the risk of excess heat. Even though the iPhone already has temperature protection, prevention is still better.
iOS 26 is known as the biggest update since iOS 7 in 2013. On such a scale, it is natural that there are side effects in the form of small bugs, slowing performance, or reduced battery power. Apple will usually launch additional updates in the next few weeks to solve the problems that arise.
Apple also confirms that this applies not only to the iPhone, but also to other devices such as the iPad, MacBook, to Apple Watch. All devices will need time to adjust after major updates.
