JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will increase the number of security officers guarding public cemeteries (TPU). Because many citizens are forced to enter to make pilgrimages and overwhelm the officers.

Anies asked the citizens of the Capital to understand the rules that have been made. TPU is closed for pilgrimage from May 12 to 16, 2021 to minimize crowds. Anies said officers would be more assertive in enforcing the rules.

Anies Baswedan previously gathered regional heads in Jabodetabek, in a coordination meeting on controlling activities during the Eid al-Fitr season of 1442 Hijri.
As a result, the government agreed to close the TPU in Jabodetabek for grave pilgrimage during Eid holidays. Even so, funeral processions at TPU can still be done.
