Alphabet Value Reaches IDR 49.244 Trillion After Google Wins Chrome Antitrust Lawsuit

JAKARTA Alphabet's valuation, the parent company of Google, is now worth more than US$3 trillion or around Rp.49,244 trillion. This achievement was achieved after Google stopped being forced to separate from Chrome.

On September 2, Federal Judge Amit Mehta rejected the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) proposal to break up Google. This decision allows Google to defend Chrome which is a major problem in antitrust lawsuits.

Judge Mehta reasoned that selling Chrome was an unreasonable request. He was worried that the move would significantly reduce product quality. This ruling is considered a big win for Google.

With this decision, Google is still allowed to pay partners for the placement of their search products and artificial intelligence (AI). However, Google still needs to meet the requirements put forward to be completely free from the urge to sell Chrome.

Google is required to share their search information with competitors. This is expected to help other companies increase their ability to compete in the market.

This decision has a positive impact on investors. They reward the decision. Investor confidence is seen to increase again, thus pushing the Alphabet valuation to a higher level.

Now Alphabet is joining another tech giant that has a valuation of above $3 trillion. Other companies at the club are Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple. Amazon is in next position, but still far behind.

This increase in valuation is also supported by other Google business performances. Their cloud business is growing rapidly thanks to strong AI offerings. This shows that Google's power comes not only from Chrome, but also from other products.
