China Masters 2025: Rian/Yere's Debut Ends Dramatically
JAKARTA Men's doubles debut journey Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan at the 2025 China Masters immediately ended dramatically in the first half.
They lifted the suitcase after holding back six match points in the third game against third seed Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin which ended with the final score 21-12, 11-21, and 20-22 on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
"Our first game was very comfortable and we had found the right pattern of play. However, in the second game which should have been better because of the wind winning position, the pattern changed," said Rian.
Rian/Yere performed well in the first game and managed to steal the win. After a 3-3 draw, they scored five points in a row and were not overtaken anymore.

However, in the second game the situation turned and sided with the Malaysian pair. From the start, Rian/Yere fell behind and had no chance to equalize the score at all.
Rian/Yere put up fierce resistance at the start of the third game, but after the interval started to run helpless. They then got up and detained the opponent's six matchpoints, but failed to convert them into wins.
"We have to be even more sure in every hit. Earlier there were several easy balls that should have been able to enter, but they were wasted. This is an evaluation for the next match," said Rian.
Rian/Yere are the second Indonesian men's doubles to be eliminated from the tournament. Before them, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani had already lost.
The defeat was also felt by the women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, who had to admit the first seed host Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning.
