The Motive For Kidnapping And Murder Of Kacab Ilham Pradipta: Wants To Control Dormant Account Money
JAKARTA The kidnapping and murder case of Bank Head Mohamad Ilham Pradipta was revealed. From the results of the investigation, the motive for the perpetrators was to control money in the bangmant account.
Dormant accounts are bank accounts that are not active because there are no transactions, both debit and credit, within a certain period of time.
"The motive for the perpetrators is that they plan to transfer money from a mortgage account to a holding account that has been prepared," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Wira Satya Triputra, in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 16.
According to Wira, the plan was initiated by suspect C alias Ken who obtained data on the accounts of several banks. In June 2025, C alias Ken met another suspect with the initials DH to discuss transferring funds from a dormant account to a holding account.
"C alias Ken has a plan to move money from adomant account to a holding account that has been prepared," he said.
The plan was then followed up by preparing an information technology team (IT). However, to carry out the plan requires approval from the authority or head of the bank branch.
"The perpetrator on behalf of C alias Ken invites DH to look for branch heads or auxiliary branches that can be invited to cooperate," said Wira.
Furthermore, C alias Ken and DH met on July 30 with suspect AAM. During the meeting, C alias Ken said that he had data on BRI Bank's mortgage account, but always failed to approach the branch head.
From there, two options for the action plan emerged. First, coercion with violence and threats and then release the victim. Second, coercion is accompanied by threats and if successful, the victim will be taken away by life.
