Minister Of Public Works: Needs Increase, Total Regional Road Instruction Ceiling Is IDR 9 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has prepared a budget of IDR 9 trillion to carry out Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Regional Road Connectivity in order to support food and energy self-sufficiency.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, when met by reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 15.

"(So the total) is IDR 9 trillion," said Dody.

According to Dody, the increase in the Inpres budget was due to his increasing needs.

"(The reason is), yes, the need is added. The total needs of the list we receive are more than Rp90 trillion," he said.

Dody said the budget spike was due to the large number of requests from the regions for road repairs carried out by the central government.

"Yes, that's how much. That's all the roads that we have to improve, the central government will fix it, yes," he said.

He also has not revealed when the implementation of the Presidential Instruction can be implemented immediately. "It's time, right, it's also tight. So, not all of them can do it this year," he concluded.

Previously, Minister Dody revealed that the budget allocation for the Presidential Instruction on the Acceleration of Increasing Regional Road Connectivity (IJD) in 2025 was IDR 4 trillion.

"This year's total IJD budget may be around IDR 4 trillion," said Dody at a press conference at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday night, July 18.

The top priority of the IJD is to access roads that support food security. As of July 15, the Ministry of Public Works has received 2,995 proposed regional road projects out of 515 local governments.

These projects are currently being verified and will then be set on a priority list based on economic benefits, food self-sufficiency support and regional connectivity.

The initial execution of the IJD physical work is targeted to start in the third quarter of 2025.

"The IJD is new, but we are trying to get this community-based infrastructure started as soon as possible. So, the economy in the regions is starting to grow," he said.
