Bali Is Raining Again, The Provincial Government Asks For Weather Modification
DENPASAR - Deputy Governor of Bali I Nyoman Giri Prasta said that he had submitted to the BNPB and the central BMKG for a weather modification operation because Bali was again rained in the middle of the post-flood handling process.
"Yes, we have conveyed (a request for a weather modification operation), I think it is important to do it," said Giri Prasta, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 16.
"Seeing that since Monday (15/9) a number of points, especially Denpasar City, had received light and moderate rain again, even though the process of handling waste after large floods on Wednesday (10/9) had not yet been completed," the Deputy Governor of Bali assessed that it needed anticipation.
Moreover, according to him, sometimes the weather forecast is not appropriate during the transitional times of this season, so anticipation with one alternative to weather modification is needed.
"So, we must coordinate with BMKG, as well as BPBD by always taking early anticipation related to possible problems that exist," said Giri Prasta.
However, he said, this short-term step could not be done arbitrarily, because what was feared when it rained was that the volume could be very large when it rained.
Not to mention that in the dry season, farmers in Bali need rain, so this operation must be careful to do it in order to continue to care for the earth.
Meanwhile, in the long term, so that large floods do not occur again, Deputy Governor Giri emphasized the Bali Provincial Government's steps to prohibit the conversion of productive land functions from becoming commercial.

"Regarding the current inundation, several hours of rain there have been several puddles, we have coordinated with the district/city government to move quickly, with the help of our water pump we can accelerate the receding water," said Giri Prasta.
