National Transportation Day Tomorrow, Ojol Will Hold A Demo And Here Are 6 Demands
JAKARTA Thousands of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) who are members of the Indonesian Guard Online Ojek Drivers Association plan to hold a massive demonstration on Wednesday, September 17, to coincide with National Transportation Day.
The action will be held at three main points, namely the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the State Palace, and the Indonesian House of Representatives. The general chairman of Garda Indonesia, Raden Igun Wicaksono, stated that the main demand in the action was to urge President Prabowo Subianto to remove the Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwaghandi and set a 10 percent discount as a deadline.
According to Igun, since his inauguration, Minister of Transportation Dudy is considered to be more in favor of online transportation application companies than drivers. He accused the Ministry of Transportation's policy under Dudy of being trapped in a vendor driven policy', which is a policy that is more controlled by the interests of application companies.
The National Transportation Day, which should be a matter of pride, has shown a setback in the transportation sector. The Minister of Transportation does not serve the people, but acts like a spokesman for app businessmen," said Igun, Tuesday, September 16.
In addition to demanding the removal of the Minister of Transportation, ojol drivers also filed six other demands, namely:
1. Incorporate the Online Transportation Bill into Prolegnas 2025'2026.2. Regulation on tariffs between goods and food.3. Investigation audit related to a 5 percent cut taken by the applicator.4. Deletion of features that harm drivers, such as aceng, slots, multi orders, to paid members. 5. Remove the Minister of Transportation.6. The National Police Chief was asked to thoroughly investigate the tragedy of August 28, 2025.

Igun added that this action will also be supported by a number of ojol communities, four-wheeled online drivers, online couriers, and student alliances including BEM UI.
As a form of solidarity, ojol drivers are planned to turn off the application en masse on the day of the action. The guard also appealed to Jakarta residents to use alternative modes of transportation because online transportation services are expected to be disrupted.
