Many People Disappear After The Riots, Metro Police Chief Forms A Special Team

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said he had formed a special team and a complaint post for missing people to search for the whereabouts of the unknown community.

It is known, there has been a lot of information about people missing since the riots that occurred in the Jakarta area at the end of August 2025.

"Polda Metro Jaya has formed a complaint post for missing people and has also formed a special team to assist the community in the process of searching for relatives and families whose whereabouts are not yet known," Asep told reporters quoted on Tuesday, September 16.

The formation of the special team and the post has been carried out since 12 September. People who feel they have lost their family members can make complaints directly to Satya Haprabu Hall, Polda Metro Jaya Ditreskrimum Building.

In addition, people who want to make a report can also contact the complaint service number at 0812-8559-9191 which is active 24 hours

"We from all levels of Polda Metro Jaya with full commitment and responsibility will continue to work hard to provide the best service in order to achieve public security and order," he said.

Apart from that, Asep stated that all the steps taken by the Polda Metro Jaya were solely to create security. All actions that are applied will also be fair according to the rules.

"We understand how important it is for every citizen and we will ensure that every step we take aims to protect and maintain the interests of society in a fair and professional manner," said Asep.
