Secretary General Of The Arab League: Israel's Crimes Will Not Be Forgotten
JAKARTA - Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressed Israel's crimes and attacks on the country that hosts peaceful negotiations will never be forgotten.
He said that at the Emergency Summit of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OKI) which was held in Doha, Qatar, Monday.
In a speech he said the Secretary General of the Arab League said Israel's attack on Qatar's sovereignty violated every humanitarian principle.
"Israel's crimes will not be forgotten and attacks on countries that mediate the ceasefire will not be forgotten," he stressed, quoted from The National September 16.
The emergency summit, led by Emir Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, was held in response to Israel's action against Qatar on September 9, targeting a delegation of negotiations from Hamas, attended by leaders and representatives of 57 members of the OKI and 22 members of the Arab League.
Quoted from Al Jazeera, apart from Qatar, Israel also launched attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, and increased its aggression in Palestine, in the period September 8-10.
Meanwhile, OKI Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha assessed that Israel's attack on the Qatari State was a continuation of the crimes of aggression, destruction, evacuation, hunger, and siege of the Palestinian people, territory, and holy places.
"This crime is a challenge that makes it difficult for us to unite our position and strengthen our solidarity in order to maintain our common goal," he tweeted on social media X OKI.
"We believe that the results of this summit can strengthen Arab-Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar and unite our attitudes and efforts to face the challenges that exist," said the Secretary General of the OIC.
In a joint statement consisting of 25 points, the summit's participating countries condemned Israel's attack on Qatar on September 9 as a coward move and violated international law.
"Israel's open brutal aggression against Qatar State, and Israel's continued aggressive practices, including genocide crimes, ethnic cleansing, hunger, and sieges, as well as settlement activities and expansionist policies, undermined the prospects for peace and peaceful coexistence in the region," reads the first point of the joint statement, quoted from the OIC website.

Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi warned that Israel's "uncontrolled and unstable" behavior would expand the scope of the conflict in the region.
He added that Israel's actions reduced the chances of creating a new peace treaty in the Middle East.
"What is happening now hinders the future of peace, threatens the security and security of the people in the region, and adds to the obstacles to the possibility of creating new peace agreements and even canceling existing peace agreements," he said.
