Polda Metro Jaya Set 16 Jakarta Riot Suspects

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said he had named 16 suspects in a series of riots that occurred in the Jakarta area. All of them are said to have committed anarchic acts in the form of destroying public facilities.

It is known that riots occurred in several areas of Jakarta from August 28 to 31, 2025.

"In general, we can convey that we have arrested 16 suspects," Asep told reporters quoted on Tuesday, September 16.

The dozens of suspects are said to have damaged four locations, namely the Ministry of Transportation cafe, the Transjakarta Bus Stop in front of the Ministry of Education and Culture, in front of the DPR and the Polda Metro Jaya Bus Stop.

The prosecution of the dozens of suspects is of course based on a police report (LP). Then collect evidence and instructions.

"We have also published five police reports as well as secured 53 pieces of evidence," said Asep.

In addition, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Wira Satya Triputra, detailed that there were three perpetrators of the destruction of the Ministry of Transportation cafe with the initials AS, MA, and MHF.

Then, there were five perpetrators of vandalizing the Transjakarta Bus Stop in front of the Ministry of Education and Culture, one of whom was a minor. They have the initials HH, ARP, SPU, and IJI.

"One person whose status is a child where we have carried out a diversion process," said Wira.

Then, for the suspects of vandalism in front of the DPR, there is one person with the initials DH. Then, for the destruction of the Polda Metro Jaya bus stop, there are four suspects, namely EJ, MTE, SW, and JP.

From the results of the deepening, they are not part of one group. In addition, some of them also come from outside the Jakarta area.

"That we have investigated the 16 suspects from various groups and based on their residences, some are from Jakarta and some are from outside Jakarta," said Wira.
