There Is Already A Pelican Crossing In Front Of Cikini Station, Pramono Reconsiders The Discourse To Build JPO

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he would review the discourse on building pedestrian bridges (JPO) to make it easier for residents to enter Cikini Commuter Line KRL Station.

Although, the discourse on the construction of the JPO was previously revealed by Pramono as a solution to the rise of pedestrians crossing carelessly to jumping over the fence to Cikini Station.

"So we will re-evaluate the JPO," said Pramono after testing the ticket crossing in front of Cikini Station, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 15.

The plan to build a JPO could be canceled. Because, currently the DKI Provincial Government has built a ticket crossing or crossing from the edge of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur towards the entrance to Cikini Station. However, Pramono will further study this matter.

"The principle is like this. The Jakarta government is committed to providing convenience for all citizens to take advantage of public facilities," said Pramono.

Furthermore, prohibiting online motorcycle taxis, conventional motorcycle taxis, and taxis to park their vehicles near the practice crossing in front of Cikini Station.

"I asked no one to park here, whether it was ojol, taxi, or whatever. If it was allowed, it would definitely be more congested and crowded here," said Pramono.

Pramono assessed that if motorcycle taxis and taxis deliberately park near the parking crossing to make it easier for their customers, then traffic around Cikini Station will be even more congested. Given, part of the current lane of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur is dominated by the excavation project.

Therefore, Pramono claims that there will be officers who often regulate the smooth running of traffic and prohibit motorcycle taxi drivers and taxis from dropping passengers in front of the liquen crossing.

"The most important thing is not to let people go down (jek and taxi) from here (in front of the crossing) is not allowed. Still not allowed, if that is done, here it will definitely be very congested," said Pramono.

"So, we coordinate with KAI together. If there is a problem, please inform us immediately to follow up," he continued.
