For Pelican Crossing In Front Of Cikini Station, Pramono: Ojol-Taksi Can't Park Here

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government is now making a ticketing crossing right in front of the entrance to Cikini Commuter Line KRL Station, Central Jakarta. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung prohibits online motorcycle taxis, conventional motorcycle taxis, and taxis to park their vehicles at that point.

This was revealed by Pramono after trying out the ticket crossing to cross from the edge of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur to Cikini Station.

"I asked no one to park here, whether it was ojol, taxi, or whatever. If it was allowed, it would definitely be more congested and crowded here," said Pramono, Monday, September 15.

Pramono assessed that if motorcycle taxis and taxis deliberately park near the parking crossing to make it easier for their customers, then traffic around Cikini Station will be even more congested. Given, part of the current lane of Jalan Pegangsaan Timur is dominated by the excavation project.

Therefore, Pramono claims that there will be officers who often regulate the smooth running of traffic and prohibit motorcycle taxi drivers and taxis from dropping passengers in front of the liquen crossing.

"The most important thing is not to let people go down (jek and taxi) from here (in front of the crossing) is not allowed. Still not allowed, if that is done, here it will definitely be very congested," said Pramono.

"So, we coordinate with KAI together. If there is a problem, please inform us immediately to follow up," he continued.

Pramono said that with this crossing facility, residents of KRL Commuter Line users no longer need to walk far from the end of the station or cross carelessly.

"I along with the City Hall ranks have decided we make a zebra cross there and we open it. So, people nowadays, if they go to Cikini, there is no need to go too far. They can go straight into Cikini," said Pramono.

Pramono explained that his party made a crossing in front of Cikini Station motivated by the habit of people crossing carelessly and climbing the station fence.

This was also addressed by KAI Daop 1 Jakarta by raising the fence to prevent KRL users from jumping over the fence again as a shortcut to the station. With the presence of this crossing ticket, Pramono hopes that no more residents will commit these violations.

"We appeal, ask, hope that the community will also comply with the things we have prepared for. We have completed the Zebra Cross," said Pramono.
