Bogor City DPRD Adds IDR 10.3 Billion Budget For Educators And Scholarships

BOGOR Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD held a working meeting with the Education Office, Wednesday, September 3. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of Commission IV Juhana and was attended by Deputy Chairman of Commission IV Rezky Kartika and members of Endah Purwanti, Jatirin, Karina Soerbakti, and Tri Riyanto.

The main agenda for the discussion includes the shortage of educators, the welfare of teachers, and scholarship programs for children from underprivileged families who attend private schools.

Juhana said that the DPRD together with the Bogor City Government agreed to increase the education budget by Rp. 10.3 billion. This fund will be allocated for additional educators and scholarships. We ensure that this budget goes to KUA-PPAS 2026. The educator's budget ceiling has increased to Rp. 16 billion," he said.

Member of Commission IV, Endah Purwanti, added that the need for teachers in Bogor City is still quite large, namely 208 people for the junior high school level and 794 people for the elementary school level. To meet this need, the DPRD has prepared two schemes: recruitment of junior high school teachers through spending on goods and services via e-procurement, as well as cooperation with universities so that final-level students can teach at elementary schools.

"So spending on junior high school educators through e-proc, while for elementary school we involve interns from universities," said Endah.

He explained that the program, which is planned to run in 2026, already has a legal umbrella in the form of Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2015 concerning amendments to Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2012 concerning Education Management and Implementation.

Teachers recruited through spending on goods and services with APBD BOS funds will receive a salary of IDR 3.2 million per month, plus training assistance of IDR 500 thousand per person.

"We want to ensure that Bogor City is able to meet the needs of teachers while paying attention to their welfare. There are no more teachers who are paid only Rp. 300 thousand," said Endah.

In addition, the DPRD and the Education Office also agreed to add 3,000 seats for New Student Admissions (SPMB) in 2026, with details of 1,000 seats in public schools and 2,000 seats in private schools.

This addition was made so that the number of students in each group studied still 40 people according to the instructions of the Governor of West Java.
