Ministry Of Transportation Does Not Issue Budget For Repair Of Public Transportation Facilities In Jakarta
The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) did not participate in issuing a budget to improve the recovery of a number of public transportation facilities (transum) that were damaged in Jakarta after the demonstration some time ago.
For your information, on August 25, there was a massive demonstration. This action was triggered by an increase in allowances for members of the DPR RI. The demonstration continued on August 28 and claimed lives. Then, the action heated up and lasted until August 31.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Land Transportation (Sesditjen Hubdat) of the Ministry of Transportation, Ahmad Yani, revealed the reason. He said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) covered all costs for repairing the transum facility.
"Alhamdulillah, friends (Pemprov) of DKI are still able," Yani told reporters at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta, Monday, September 15.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed the condition of a number of public facilities in Jakarta due to protests that have visited clashes at a number of points since the last few days.

It was recorded that as many as 22 Transjakarta bus stops, both in the corridor (BRT) and non-BRT, were affected. 6 of them were burned by unknown masses. Then, 16 bus stops were damaged and scribbled on due to vandalism.
Pramono revealed that the total loss due to the destruction of public facilities reached Rp80 billion. This includes damage to bus stops, pedestrian bridges (JPO), CCTV, traffic lights, and other public facilities.
"The total cost of losses, including two JPOs in the Senen area and Polda Metro Jaya, is now Rp80 billion," said Pramono, Tuesday, September 2.
