Two Scoopy Rider Students Robbed In Kemayoran, One Perpetrator Arrested

JAKARTA - FHA (35) a suspected robber was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kemayoran Police after carrying out his action on Jalan HBR Motik, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday night, September 14, 2025.

The suspect FHA was caught stealing a motorbike belonging to two students who passed by the location. In the action, the suspect used the old mode of trickery by accusing the victim of being a friend of his enemy.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said, the community, especially students and parents, should always be vigilant and remind minors not to bring their own motorbikes for safety and prevent similar incidents.

"We remind students to immediately seek help if they feel threatened. Crimes like this can be prevented with the vigilance and active participation of the community," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Monday, September 15, 2025.

The police chief explained that the incident began when the two victims with the initials HCE (16) and JMC (16) rode a motorbike looking for a gas station in the area.

Suddenly the perpetrators came by grabbed the victim's vehicle and forced them to pull over. With the excuse of wanting to prove that the victim was not a friend of his enemy, the perpetrator separated the two teenagers and forced them to get off the motorbike before taking the victim's vehicle.

"While trying to escape with the stolen motorbike, the perpetrator fell after the victim tried to regain his motorbike key," he said.

Local residents who saw the incident immediately helped arrest the perpetrator and handed it over to the police. Meanwhile, the victim's white Honda Scoopy motorbike was also confiscated as evidence.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence, which threatened a prison sentence of up to 9 years, and Article 378 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud with a penalty of up to 4 years.
