Deputy Governor Of NTT: 3 Victims Of The Nagekeo Flash Flood Are Still Being Sought By The SAR Team

Deputy Governor of NTT Johni Asadoma stated that three victims of flash floods in Nagekeo Regency are still being searched for by rescue teams, while five other victims have been found.

"From the data, there were eight fatalities, five have been found, three have not. We all pray that other victims can be found by the rescue team," said Johni Asadoma in his mandate when holding a morning rally in Kupang, Antara, Monday, September 15.

The Deputy Governor conveyed this related to the development of the search for victims of the flash flood natural disaster in Nagekeo Regency which occurred on Monday (8/9) last week.

The Deputy Governor of NTT in his mandate expressed his deep condolences for the victims of lives and families affected by the extreme weather disaster which resulted in flash floods and landslides at a number of points in Nagekeo Regency.

"During my visit yesterday to Nagekeo, we saw damage from the impact of the flash flood disaster due to extreme weather," he said.

Johny said there was a lot of damage to houses and other infrastructure. We have and will continue to make various maximum efforts together with BNPB, TNI-Polri, SAR Team, BPBD, local government ranks and related agencies so that mitigation efforts and various assistance can be quickly distributed to affected victims. We pray that everything is handled properly," he said.

The last victim died after being treated intensively in the ICU of the Aeremo Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Mbay, Nagekeo Regency. The victim named Ermelinda Co'o (35) was declared dead on Sunday (14/9) afternoon.

Johny hopes that all parties pray for the victims who are still missing so that the joint SAR team can find them soon, who are back in search today.
