PBNU Scandal And Hajj Corruption, Kiai Asyhari Urges Gus Yahya To Resign
YOGYAKARTA The pressure for the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya to resign from his position is getting stronger. The figure of NU Yogyakarta, Kiai Asyhari Abdullah Tamrin, openly asked Rais Aam PBNU to take firm steps to maintain the dignity of the organization.
Kiai Asyhari assessed that the various issues that hit PBNU, ranging from alleged infiltration of zionism to involvement in the corruption case of the hajj quota, had caused deep unrest among nahdiyin to the grassroots. He emphasized that such a scandal should not have occurred if the kiai at PBNU had given warnings from the start.
"This is a big disaster for NU. It can destroy the muruah jam'iyyah," said Rais Syuriyah PWNU DIY for the 2006-2016 period, in his statement, Sunday, September 14.
According to Asyhari, the issue of alleged hajj corruption is increasingly hurt the feelings of NU residents. He reminded that thousands of prospective pilgrims had to wait decades to leave, while the alleged game of quota for personal gain hurt the sense of justice.
Ulah oknum PBNU yang mencari keuntungan sempada dari dugaan korupsi haji, tidak hanya mengacas, tetapi juga membalikkan keadilan yang seharusnya terlaku, tegasnya.

On that basis, Asyhari asked Rais Aam PBNU as the supreme leader of the clock to act immediately. According to him, the wisest step is to deactivate and even dismiss Gus Yahya from the position of General Chair.
"I ask Rais Aam to use his wisdom. In order to protect the jam 'iyyah muruah, disable or stop Gus Yahya. Accelerate the congress to replace the PBNU leadership," he said.
