Tourism To Bromo Ends In Grief: 8 Lives Lost, Dozens Injured

Seven of the eight bodies of victims of a deadly accident on Jalan Raya Bromo, Probolinggo Regency, who are a family group of health workers at the Jember Bina Sehat Hospital (RSBS) were buried in Jember Regency, East Java, Sunday, September 14 evening.

The seven victims who were brought to Jember, namely Bela Puteri Kayila Nurjati (10), Hendra Pratama (37), Arti Wibowati (34), Wardatus Soleha (35), Aiza Fahrani Agustin (7), Desi Eka Agustini (33), and Nasha Azkiya Naygara (14), while the bodies of victims of Hesti Purba Wredhamaya (39) were buried in Madiun according to the family's request.

"There were eight victims who died. They are employees of RSBS and their families, three of them are still children," said Jember RSBS owner Faida, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 15.

The seven bodies of the accident victims were taken to the hospital parking lot for prayers for dozens of employees and family, as well as relatives who had filled the hospital belonging to the former Jember Regent Faida since Sunday (14/9) afternoon after hearing the news that a group of RSBS employees had an accident in Bromo.

After being prayed, the seven bodies were handed over to their respective families for burial in public cemeteries (TPU) around the victim's funeral home.

"For victims who suffered moderate to serious injuries, 17 people, but only 15 victims can be taken to be treated at RSBS, because the other two victims have to be treated, because the condition is not stable and is still critical," he said.

Faida explained that some victims who suffered serious injuries had to undergo surgery, so the RSBS immediately carried out surgery and carried out maximum intensive care.

"We hope that the two critical victims will be treated at the Tongas Hospital and Dr Moh. Saleh Hospital, Probolinggo City, can improve and can be taken to RSBS for intensive care," he said.

When asked about the tourist activities of a number of RSBS employees and their families on Mount Bromo, Faida admitted that he did not know, because the activity was purely an initiative of RSBS employees independently who celebrated graduation after the S-1 graduation with their respective families.

"So, indeed the RSBS did not know their departure to Mount Bromo until there was an accident that occurred," he said.

Of the eight victims of the deadly accident who died, one family became victims, namely Hendra Pratama with his wife and children.

Previously, the deadly accident of the Hino IND'S 88 bus, Nopol P-7221-UG, which brought a group of employees of the Jember RSBS driven by Al Bahri with the Mergi kernet, brought 52 passengers down from Mount Bromo.
