Komodo Airport: One Airline Opens International Flight Routes
JAKARTA - The head of the Komodo Airport Organizing Unit (UPBU), Labuan Bajo Ceppy Triono, stated that there is one airline that is ready to open an international flight route and go straight home (PP), namely the Singapore-Labuan Bajo route.
"The Scoot airline will also be present, but it is still calculating the rotation of the aircraft and the rotation of its crew, but from our monitoring in contact so far no later than December 2025 they are already operating in Labuan Bajo," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 14.
Currently, Komodo International Airport, Labuan Bajo serves the Kuala Lumpur Labuan Bajo - Labuan Bajo - Kuala Lumpur international flight route by AirAsia airline since September 2024.
Ceppy stated that Scoot will replace the Asian Jetstar airline which has stopped direct and round-trip flight services (PP) on the Singapore-Labuan Bajo route since July 31, 2025.
"Flights will be carried out on Thursdays and Sundays, twice a week of flights, but it is possible that if the seat occupancy is good, we can add more on other days," he said.
Ceppy explained that the seat occupancy rate for international flight routes on the Singapore-Labuan Bajo route was fairly high because based on the experience of Jetstar Asia airlines the seat occupancy rate was more than 90 percent of the total availability of existing airplane seats.
"This means that the opportunity is quite large and Komodo Airport for handling international flights is arguably quite exclusive, because not in one time two international aircraft enter, only one aircraft at a time, so the timing and slot are exclusive, so who can be exclusive," he said.
On the other hand, he continued, Komodo Airport also continues to strive to optimize airport terminals so that terminal spaces at terminals can function optimally for the community and passengers.
