Melanie Subono Reworks On Song One From Superglad For The Rumah Harapan Foundation

JAKARTA - Melanie Subono reworked the flagship song Superglad which was first released in 2007, One, as the theme song for the activities that will be carried out with the Rumah Harapan Melanie Foundation.

The first time the Superglad was introduced was to encourage those who in their day suffered from HIV/AIDS due to the use of syringes when consuming drugs. This song invites them to keep fighting even though they have made mistakes.

The lyrics of the song written by Lukman Laksmana alias Buluk, Melanie are still considered relevant to the current conditions, but with a broader context.

"I chose because the lyrics tell about the current situation, where people are tired, how people must be responsible for their actions and continue to live," said Melanie Subono in her statement, Sunday, September 14.

One word is simple but means everything. We are one," added Melanie.

In terms of replayed music, Melanie fully entrusted Hamid Alatas, his colleague in establishing a production house called Studio Simima.

Melanie admits that there are difficulties when working on the song Superglad again. Given that One is often brought back by many musicians, there are feelings to present something different.

Together with Hamid, Melanie decided to present several children to sing the new version One. Those involved were Abrielle Ramaun, Alana Prianka Raqeesha, Hyde Satriaditama Yuswanto, and Hiro Adhyasta Yuswanto.

Their presence, said Melanie, presents a separate meaning to the single, where the meaning of 'One' must start from a small child with their purity.

"Pas rekaman bagian anak kecilnya ya namanya anak kecil ya mereka itu kan dari berbagai usia, mereka ini harus sing dengan benar, paling enggak ya secara nada. Belum lagi di tengah rekaman ada yang nangi, ada yang ngembek," tutur Melanie.

"But in my opinion, everything is fun. A creative process that is not difficult, but tricky," he added.

With its release, One will be the theme song for the activity of the Rumah Harapan Melanie Foundation which has been running for 18 years.

Melanie's House of Hope itself is a social movement that includes all fields, ranging from health, education, natural disasters, to daily needs for those in need throughout Indonesia.
