Minister Dody Appreciates The First 21 Manado Middle School Infrastructure, Ready To Print A Quality Young Generation

The Gerimis that flushed Manado City did not dampen the enthusiasm of the children of the Manado City 21 Junior High School (SRMP) to welcome the presence of the Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo with Mrs. Irma Hanggodo, Friday, September 12, 2025.

This visit is part of Minister Dody's efforts to ensure that all People's Schools that have been completed by the Ministry of Public Works can be used optimally to increase access to education for the community.

SRMP 21 Manado is part of the National Public School Phase 1 A program carried out by the Ministry of Public Works through Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025. This school occupies the existing building of the Tumou Tou Center in Manado owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs which has been renovated by the Ministry of Public Works on time and will start operating on July 14, 2025.

This school is not only a place to study, but also a place to grow. Therefore, we want to make sure that supporting facilities such as dormitories and sanitation really deserve to be used," said Minister Dody.

Minister Dody expressed his appreciation for the quality of the SRMP 21 Manado building.

"I think 90 percent plus it's good, very good. The education curriculum is also good," said Minister Dody.

During this visit, Minister Dody reviewed a number of facilities that had been firmly established even though they had only been completed in a short time.

Starting from classrooms, men's-daughter dormitories, to sanitation infrastructure, one by one is reviewed.

Minister Dody took the time to talk with the teachers about their daily life accompanying students.

"I see that the children really enjoy attending school here. Hopefully their enthusiasm will be maintained," said Minister Dody.

With a capacity of 3 study groups (rombels) containing 25 students per class, this school now accommodates 75 students and is supported by 12 teaching staff.

Dukungan sarana dan prasarana meliputi fasilitas ruang kelas, laboratorium, perpustakaan, ruang guru, mushola, lapangan, ruang makan, UKS, dan lainnya.

Secara keseluruhan Sekolah Rakyat Tahap 1 di Provinsi Sulawesi Utara sebanyak 2 lokasi yakni SRMP 21 Manado dan SRMA 44 Minahasa.

Untuk Tahap II telah diusulkan sebanyak 2 lokasi yakni di Kabupaten Minahasa dan Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow.

Support for facilities and infrastructure includes classroom facilities, laboratories, libraries, teacher rooms, prayer rooms, fields, dining rooms, UKS, and others.

Overall, Phase 1 People's Schools in North Sulawesi Province have 2 locations, namely SRMP 21 Manado and SRMA 44 Minahasa.

For Phase II, 2 locations have been proposed, namely in Minahasa Regency and Bolaang Mongondow Regency.
