Joseph/Syafiqa Focus On Physical Recovery Ahead Of The 2025 Special Yonex Doubles Final
JAKARTA Joseph Marcellino Kyta/Syafiqa Aliya's mixed cadet doubles pair solidified their physical preparations ahead of the 2025 Yonex-Sunrise Doubles Special Championships final which was held at Daihatsu Yonex-Sunrise Candra Wijaya International Badminton Center (DYSCWIBC), Serpong, Banten, Saturday 13 September.
Joseph/Syafiqa stepped into the top party after going through a tight match against Ardiola Dionilo/Nadia Pritasari. In the match that lasted three games, they won with a score of 21-12, 12-21, 21-15.
In the final, Joseph/Syafiqa will face challenges from Moses Andar Simatupang/Reya Azzahra Yulianti from Taqi Arena Badminton Academy. Moses/Reya previously eliminated the superior pair Alfa Wahyudinata/Lilyan Sari Wibowo (Jaya Raya-Tangkas) through a three-game battle, 21-16, 19-21, 21-13.
"Legal is certain, but we must remain consistent in competing. There is no special preparation, I only focus on resting and recovering physically," Joseph said after the semifinal match.

Meanwhile, Syafiqa admitted that her appearance in the semifinals was still not optimal due to lack of focus. However, he and Joseph were able to change strategies in the middle of the match.
"The opponent also made some mistakes, and it was an opportunity for us to turn the situation around by changing attack patterns and playing more calmly," said Syafiqa.
In the adult mixed doubles number, a surprise occurred when the Galuh Dwi Putra (Dahihatsu Yonex Sunrise Candra Wijaya)/Nurhafizah (Riau Riau Ripri Bank) managed to get rid of the second seed from the Jaya Raya club, Steven Lie Sutarman/Stephanie Widjaja. Galuh/Nurhafizah won convincingly in two straight games, 21-15, 21-15.
Galuh/Nurhafizah will next challenge the strong pair Ahmad Sasfariansyah Siregar/Meisa Rizka Fitria (Exist BC/Jaya Raya) in the final round. Ahmad/Meisa previously had to work hard to beat the pair Renaldi Samosir/Marsheilla Gischa Islami with a tight score, 16-21, 22-16, 22-19.
The 2025 Yonex-Sunrise Doubles Special Championships final will certainly present fierce duels between talented young couples, who are ready to show their best quality on the national stage.
