Concrete Fence In Cilincing Licensed, Pramono: We Can't Do Anything

JAKARTA - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, said that he could not do anything related to the existence of a concrete fence on the coast of Cilincing, North Jakarta. This is because the construction has obtained a permit from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) of the Republic of Indonesia.

The KKP has officially issued a approval permit for the suitability of sea space utilization activities (PKKPRL) for PT KCN with the allocation of public port construction, in 2023.

"Indeed, after I checked the permit for the company, it was complete, so we also can't do anything because it is the authority of the Ministry of KKP," Pramono told reporters, Saturday, September 13.

Nevertheless, Pramono stated that he had ordered the Water Resources Service to communicate with PT KCN. The goal is that the activities of the fishermen around the concrete fence are not disturbed.

"But the most important thing is Jakarta's responsibility so that they are not disturbed by making a living," said Pramono.

According to him, the concrete fence is a embankment built by PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN), a port business entity that operates a public terminal at Marunda Port, North Jakarta.

PT KCN is a joint venture between PT KBN (BUMN) with a share proportion of 15 percent and PT KTU (private) of 85 percent. A total of 25.85 percent of PT KBN is also owned by the DKI Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, the KKP ensures that the concrete embankment in the Cilincing Sea, North Jakarta, is not part of the Giant Sea Embankment (Giant Sea Wall) project but PT KCN's reclamation project for public ports.

"This is our context, not the Giant Sea Wall sea embankment, but the KCN sea wall," said Director of Marine Spatial Planning Control of the Directorate General of Marine Management and Marine Space of the KKP Fajar Kurniawan.
