The Concrete Fence In Cilincing Is Not Related To The Sea Fence At PIK

JAKARTA - PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) stated that the concrete fence in the Cilincing Sea, North Jakarta, was not related to the sea fence in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area which had been in the public spotlight some time ago.

"So if we want to see, of course this project has nothing to do with the bamboo fence of ancient times, which people now like to be confused, is this part of the bamboo fence that used to be crowded at PIK. Not!" said President Director of PT Karya Citra Nusantara (KCN) Widodo Setiadi as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 13.

Widodo explained that the concrete fence is part of the port construction that is being built, so it has nothing to do with the bamboo sea fence that has been widely discussed by the public, such as in the waters of PIK, Tangerang, Banten.

According to him, many parties are still confused and consider the concrete fence project in Cilincing to be part of the bamboo sea fence in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area. He also denied this.

In fact, the location of the concrete fence in Cilincing and the PIK waters that once had a bamboo fence is quite far away. Because the concrete fence that KCN is working on is at the last limit of the North Jakarta area.

"The location is also far between PIK and this (Cilincing sea area). This is the last limit from North Jakarta. After this there is BKT (East Flood Canal)," he said.

In addition, he also emphasized that the port pier construction project was not related to the Marunda Center area in Bekasi, West Java.

"Just the one who had a question earlier. Is it the same as the Marunda Center? It's different! Marunda Center has entered Bekasi or entered West Java," he explained.

The port dock construction project in Cilincing is the result of private and government collaboration without using the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) or the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

Widodo said that until now, the progress of port construction has reached 70 percent, with the first pier (mermaga) almost complete, the second pier is targeted for completion by 2025, and the third pier is planned to be completed in 2026.

He said the KKP had officially issued a permit for approval for the suitability of sea space utilization activities (PKKPRL) for PT KCN with the allocation of public port construction in Cilincing, North Jakarta in 2023.

"And we have checked that the sea fence is indeed in the PKKPRL, in the location of the KKPRL which has been issued," said Fajar.

Even though the full permit has been fulfilled, the KKP remains committed to monitoring so that reclamation activities do not have a detrimental impact on fishermen and the coastal community of Cilincing as a whole.

"We, both from the Directorate General of Marine Spatial Planning and also the Directorate General of PSDKP (Supervision of Marine and Fisheries Resources), will continue to supervise, oversee the implementation of the permits that have been issued," said Fajar.
