San Marino MotoGP: Marquez Rises In Second Session, Top Of First Day Of Training
JAKARTA - After becoming the fastest in the training session, Ducati racer Marc Marquez was happy that he would not be able to end the first day of the San Marino 2025 MotoGP session at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Italy, Friday.
Marquez admitted that he had difficulty in the opening session, namely free practice 1 (FP1) when he was in fifth position with a time of 1 minute 31.611 seconds behind Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Quartararo, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Alex Marquez.
In the second session or closing session of the first day, the racer who is synonymous with number 93 performed better with a time of 1 minute 30.480 seconds, which made him top the training session above Marco Bezzecchi and Morbidelli.
Initially today was not good because I was uncomfortable in the free practice (FP1) session, although still fast," said Marquez, quoted from Ducati Corse's official website, followed by ANTARA, Saturday, September 13.
In the afternoon, my performance got better from round to round, improving my braking position and point. The team did a very good job and gave me what I needed from the bike. We are in a good position now, but we know we have to keep trying," he added.

Marquez came to San Marino after a record seven consecutive wins were broken by his own younger brother, Alex Marquez at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, which is located in Montmelo, Spain, last week.
Alex's defeat made him fail to lock up the title in San Marino, and nearby he could only lock his seventh MotoGP world title in his next series at the Motegi Circuit, Japan, which was held at the end of September.
Marquez currently leads the standings with 487 points, ahead of Alex who is in second place with 305 points.
Departing from Montmel Badminton, a circuit that requires fine driving, here you have to be aggressive, especially when braking. The panic is very strong, so it's a bit difficult to find the right feeling with a motorbike. But in the end, we did it," said the Spaniard.
Marquez is the record holder of the most wins in San Marino, with five wins, one of which happened last season when he was with Gresini, beating Ducati duo Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini.
On Saturday, Marquez will open it with a free practice session 2 (FP2) at 15:10-15.40 WIB, take part in the qualification session 2 (Q2) at 16.15-16.30 WIB, and close with a Sprint 13 lap session at 20.00 WIB.
