The Pedel League Is Officially Present As The First Structured Amateur Competition In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The color has just returned to the world of padel in the country with the Pedel League. This competition is intended for amateur padel activists in Indonesia who carry a professional format.

Hakhat padel is a sport that is carried out double in the best of three sets format, combining excitement, strategy, and competition. Therefore, the Padel League is here to answer the needs of amateur players who want to experience competing like professionals, as well as building a strong padel community in Indonesia.

The inaugural season of the Pedel League will start from October 2025 at several Jakarta clubs. Matches are held on weekends to make it easier for participants with a tiered competition system, from group phases, play-ins, to playoffs, and finals.

This format ensures that every couple gets many opportunities to compete and keep the competition growing until the end.

The Pedel League also implements a fixed partner system that applies for a full season so that each player can build chemistry and long-term synergy with his partner.

In addition to professional competitions, the Pedel League offers a total prize of IDR 120 million which is intended for two divisions, namely Bronze and Silver, men and women.

However, this competition is not centered on the grand prize but aims to form an inclusive, healthy, and fun sports ecosystem.

The Pedel League is also a forum for talent screening, where amateur fans will emerge potential that can be honed towards a professional level.

The chairman of the Jakarta Executive Board of Padel Indonesia (PBPI), Gino Korompis, also emphasized the importance of this league in the ecosystem.

"The Padel League is not only a competition, but also a coaching platform. From here, we can see who has great potential to develop further, both through clubs and official coaching channels."

Gino also added that padels have unique attractions for young people, urban communities, and families who want to exercise together. So that the growth can be fast in Indonesia.

"This padel is an inclusive and fun sport, anyone can play. With a league like this, we hope that more people will be interested, participate, and eventually build a strong ecosystem from grassroots to a professional level," he said.

Daniel Van Leeuwen as the Chief Executive of the Pedel League also admitted that this event was born from the spirit of the community to present a professional and friendly competitive forum for players from various levels.

The Pedel League is also here to provide new experiences for amateur players to raise their level.
