VOI Today: Prabowo's Nephew, Rahayu Saraswati Resigns From The DPR, Netizens Urge Puan To Join In Resigning

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto's nephew, Rahayu Saraswati resigned from her position as Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI.

This decision he conveyed through his personal Instagram account on Wednesday, September 10. He said that this resignation was triggered by controversy arising from a YouTube video clip of Antara TV which aired in February 2025.

According to him, the footage, which lasted more than 2 minutes, was cut by certain parties to provoke the anger of the community. However, Sara still apologized and admitted her mistake. Then she declared her resignation from her position.

On September 10, the daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the resignation would be processed through the party court. Rahayu Saraswati's decision to resign is in contrast to the attitude of several other council members who have also drawn criticism, but remain in his position.

Not only that, the public also highlighted the executive ranks who hold concurrent positions even though they have been banned by law. It is known, there are more than 30 Deputy Ministers in the Red and White Cabinet who concurrently serve as Directors or Commissioners of SOEs.

The question is, who else will follow in Saraswati's footsteps? From the legislature, someone has resigned, from the executive when? Check out the full information in VOI.id.
