Alexander Isak Still Doesn't Want To Leak The Controversy Of His Move From Newcastle To Liverpool

JAKARTA - Alexander Isak said people don't have a complete picture of the details of his move from Newcastle United to Liverpool.

Isak joined Liverpool with a record British transfer of 125 million pounds on the last day of the transfer market after a long struggle for Newcastle to let him go.

He was not involved in the pre-season with Eddie Howe's side. In August 2025, he released a statement saying that his promises had been broken and his trust in Newcastle had been lost.

The comments made Newcastle hot. The feud also made the striker not played in all the early matches of The Magpies in the Premier League.

The public only knows that Isak and Newcastle's commotion is only on the surface and what local media have reported.

The Swedish player confirmed that the full story was not so. However, he was still reluctant to divulge when interviewed while on duty for the national team.

"Not everyone has a complete picture, but it's for another time. It's part of football."

"I can't control everything said or written, but I'm happy to be a Liverpool player."

"That's what I want and I'm happy for it. There are a lot of things to discuss and it can be discussed for a long time."

"It's very educational. I'm happy with the final result. I'm happy and proud to be a Liverpool player."

"I don't want to go into details or discuss too much of that situation. It's a closed chapter, but I've never had a problem," Isak told Swedish media.

Apart from that, Isak is still fighting with Sweden to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. During the two Group B matches of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the European Zone, Sweden is still struggling.

They have only won one point from the results of the series against Slovenia and beyond the alleged 0-2 defeat to Kosovo on 5 and 8 September 2025.

Sweden will continue the struggle from October to November. Now, they are in third place in Group B standings, behind Switzerland (6 points) and Kosovo (3 points).
