Alert For Landslides This Month, BPBD Jakart Map 10 Districts In South Jakarta And East Jakarta

The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) asked the public to be aware of the potential for landslides in 10 sub-districts of South Jakarta and East Jakarta throughout September 2025.

Head of DKI Jakarta BPBD Isnawa Adji explained that the potential map of ground movement was prepared based on overlapping (overlay) between the vulnerability zone of ground movement and monthly rainfall forecasts.

According to information from PVMBG, several areas of DKI Jakarta are in the middle zone. In this zone, ground movement can occur if the rainfall is above normal, especially in areas near river valleys, gawir, disturbed road cliffs, or slopes," Isnawa said, Friday, September 12.

He added, in the high zone, the old ground movement could even be active again. Therefore, the village head, sub-district head, and community are asked to continue to anticipate the potential for landslides when it rains heavily.

In addition to the threat of landslides, Isnawa also reminded the risk of collapsed buildings during the rainy season due to heavy rains and strong winds. This condition is exacerbated if there is a shift in land.

"People need to pay attention to the condition of the building, especially the old or damaged ones, and immediately strengthen the structure so as not to cause danger," he said.

The 10 sub-districts that have the potential to experience soil movement in September 2025, namely:
