Mitsubishi Rumored To Launch The Latest Pajero Next Year

The news of the emergence of the latest generation Mitsubishi Pajero or Montero in several markets has been widely discussed again. This legendary SUV is said to be reborn after the last time it was rumored in 2024, with the global launch schedule predicted for 2027.

Citing Top Gear PH, Thursday, September 11, a report from Japan states that the new Pajero will be built on the Mitsubishi Outlander platform. This means that the diesel engine, which has been the mainstay of the flagship, will be replaced with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and gasoline engines.

As the rumors circulate, the photos of road tests spread across cyberspace are increasingly triggering enthusiasm. Interestingly, from the image, a large Mitsubishi SUV can be seen using a live axis replacing an independent suspension. This raises speculation whether it is the new Pajero, or even the next generation Pajero Sport.

The latest information comes from Japanese media NHK World, which claims Mitsubishi is ready to launch its newest Pajero in early December next year not in 2027. This move is believed to be a strategy to boost sales, particularly in Japan's domestic market.

Not only that, there is a possibility that the new Pajero assembly will be carried out in Thailand to reduce costs and increase production capacity. Unfortunately, until now the details of specifications and features are still being stored.

For the Indonesian market, this rumor is certainly encouraging news. The reason is, Pajero has a strong fan base and has always been one of the most popular SUVs. Its re-presence will obviously be awaited by many consumers.
