If The IPhone 17 Pro Max For IDR 32.8 Million Feels Expensive, Just Wait For The IPhone Fold
JAKARTA - For the first time, now you can hand over 2,000 US dollars (around Rp. 32.8 million) to Apple to get an iPhone, especially the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a capacity of 2TB. However, look ahead, this is just a sign on the way to the iPhone Fold.
When Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone, we were all surprised by the price. Microsoft's Steve Ballmer even mocked the cost. Even Apple actually had time to reduce its price, even for a while, and it must be the only one in its history.
The first iPhone costs $499 before tax. Now you can, if you have your needs and guts, pay Apple 2,000 US dollars and get the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage.
The problem is, people will do it. Professional filmmakers who usually struggle by replacing external hard drives hotly will see the 2TB as a gift, at least unless they try to send such a large file via AirDrop.

Apple has made it so that, under the right conditions, and for the right people, the price of this 2,000 US dollars is not only possible, but it can even be considered a good value. It's just that, the number of people who have a reason to see it like that is very small.
Then look at yourself. No doubt, you should think that two thousand dollars for a phone is a lot of money, but you're also not surprised.
You know how much Apple uses for storage, for one thing. But the other thing, Apple has managed to train us, they have normalized increasingly expensive phones.
And maybe the beginning of this isn't the price of half a thousand first iPhone dollars. It was the 2017 iPhone X which was the first iPhone to cost more than US$1,000.
The iPhone X is an experiment for Apple in many ways, such as whether shoppers will accept the loss of the home button. But it's also a market test, where Apple will find out if the price of a thousand dollars is achievable. And we buy it, in all sense.
Eight years later, there were 16 iPhone models that cost more than a thousand dollars or at least 999 US dollars before tax. Coupled with the now a thousand-dollar iPhone Air, we have passed another milestone for the iPhone released in September.
Over the years, the Pro model costs a thousand dollars or more, but the basic iPhone model and the fourth model don't. Whether the fourth model is a mini or a large screen Plus, the price remains below the $1,000 mark.
Half the price line is under a thousand, the other half is above. There's also the iPhone SE and now there's the iPhone 16e, so for the main September launch, there's two that's cheaper than a thousand dollars, and two that's more expensive.
Now only the basic iPhone 17 remains below that price. It took years, and had to ignore the iPhone 16e outlier, but at the "Awe Dropping" event, Apple moved the price line up.
The price of storage capacity: 512GB for 1399 or 58.29 US dollars/month, 1TB for 1599 or 66.62 US dollars/month, 2TB for 1999 or USD 83.29/month for 24 months. Apple's storage price is what makes the eyes clear.
Apple will do it again too. Although the price of the iPhone 17 doesn't go up as much as sometimes predicted, the price goes up and Apple will increase it "starting in 2026."
That's when the long-awaited iPhone Fold is now believed to be released. This may be a 'trusted' case when you see it, but whenever it comes, the iPhone Fold is expected to start at 2,000 US dollars.
You must be wondering how much the iPhone Fold costs with 2TB storage, or even 3TB. But you can bet Apple doesn't need to wonder the configuration is already in a spreadsheet somewhere at Apple Park.
