How To Make Memories Movies In Photos Apps On IPhone And IPad

JAKARTA - Now iPhone and iPad users can create film Memories in the Photos app in a more exciting way, especially after the presence of iOS 18.1. Apple offers two different methods: a classic way that has been around for a long time, and a new way to take advantage of Apple's latest artificial intelligence from Apple.

For iPhone 15 Pro owners, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 models, you can use Apple Intelligence to create a film Memories by simply typing a description. However, for devices that do not support Apple Intelligence, you can still use the old method that automatically combines photos and videos of your choice.

Creating Memories Without Apple Intelligence

First, create an album that contains photos or videos that you want to make a movie of. If you don't have one, open the Albums tab in Photos, then tap the + icon to create a new album and name it. After that, select photos and videos from all your collections and add them to the album.

If the album is ready, just press and hold the album, then select 'Play Memory Video.' Photos app will automatically create a film with music from your Apple Music. Before changing it, watch the initial result first.

Creating Memories with Apple Intelligence

For devices that support Apple Intelligence, this method is much more sophisticated. Just scroll to the Memories section in Photos, then type the description of the film you want. For example 'family vacation to Bali' or 'high school friends in Jakarta.' Apple Intelligence will look for photos and videos according to the keyword and compose them into films.

When the film is finished, you can watch it live. The title of the film will automatically be made from the keyword you type. When the movie is played, you can tap the screen to stop for a moment and see the list of photos and videos used.

Memory Movie Customization

Users can change photo sequences, change music, and apply filters such as black-and-white, color fading, or warm effects. All of this is done through the Memory Mixes button and the music icon on the screen.

You can also change the title of the film, rearrange photos and videos, hide certain Memories, or add them to Favorites so that they can be found easily. The finished Memories film will be saved in the For You tab in the Photos application, so you can play it at any time or edit it again in the future.
