Witness Of The Hit And Run Case Of Elderly In Penjaringan Jakut Hears Loud Sounds, See Victims Disbursed In Blood

JAKARTA - The key witness in the case of the alleged hit-and-run case, So Tjui, testified in the courtroom held at the North Jakarta District Court, Thursday, September 11, 2025.

In front of the judge, So Tjui assessed that the defendant ISA (65) was considered to have no empathy for victim S (82) and his family since the accident until the trial process which is currently rolling.

"That morning I was exercising and there was a sound (like) an explosion, I saw a white car stop suddenly, stopped about 20 seconds ago continued the journey," said witness So Tjui in the trial scheduled for witness examination.

After that he tried to approach the location and it turned out that someone was lying on the complex road in a blood-stained head condition.

"My distance is 50 meters and at first I thought the sack was a person," he said.

Initially, this victim was face down and then moved for a teletang. He saw the victim was still breathing and limp.

"I contacted the security officer of the complex and after that, about 10 minutes the officers came to the location with the head of the RW and the defendant," he said.

Then the head of the RW explained to the defendant that the person who was hit was a non-slower person as the defendant admitted.

Then the head of the RW and two security officers took the victim to the hospital using the defendant's car.

He saw that the car the defendant was carrying had broken glass and crushed to the right.

He admitted that he did not know the defendant and the defendant got out of the car and saw the victim's condition.

"I was at the location until this victim was taken to the hospital," he said.

In addition, the Panel of Judges also showed the recording of the hit-and-run incident to the defendant, witnesses, prosecutors and legal advisors of the defendant in the trial.

The chairman of the Panel of Judges, Hapsari Retno Widowulan, questioned the defendant why he, who is 65 years old and has just carried out a cataract operation, was still driving.

"Why does the defendant still want to drive a car with this condition," he said.

The judge also questioned the speed of the car the defendant was carrying while passing through the road.

In the investigation report, the defendant stated that the speed of the car was 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and was quite high.

"That's quite a high speed on the streets of the housing complex," he said.

Meanwhile, the defendant ISA admitted that he often experienced dropping conditions and shortly before the incident his views were dark and did not know he had hit someone.

"I just had a cataract operation in March and an accident in May," he said.

Meanwhile, Haposan, the victim's son S, said that until now no apology has been made by the defendant to the victim's family.

"Yes, he can say anything, but what we experienced was that he did not apologize to us. At the time of the incident at the hospital, he did not apologize at all. Until today there is no good faith. I hope the law will continue and be dropped to the fullest for him (the defendant)," said Haposan.

Haposan emphasized that the legal process against the defendant continued until the defendant was sentenced to severe punishment according to his actions.

"The law must continue, until this point he does not have empathy for us," he said.
