Google Redesigns Gemini's View By Adding 'alats'
JAKARTA Google has redesigned Gemini's interface. The company is seen adding a 'alat' feature that makes Gemini's options neater and more organized.
Previously, the whole Gemini was only presented side by side in the section that the command field. However, with this feature called 'alat', all features are now grouped into one so the menu is more centralized.
Tools adopt drop-down format. When a user clicks on the drop-down option in the command field, they can select the Deep Research option, Create videos with Veo, Create images, and Guided Learning.
In addition, Gemini's method of displaying order advice has also changed. Instead of immediately raising suggestions, Gemini is now grouping it in a more structured category, such as Image Creation and Deep Research.

When the user types the command, the command's suggestion will disappear. However, if the user has entered the command, the command bar will shift to the bottom of the screen, providing wider space to view the response.
Meanwhile, Gemini's appearance on the mobile web hasn't changed much. The command bar remains at the bottom of the screen, but command advice is now displayed under greeting.
This redesign was previously tested in July and was released in August before its changes were withdrawn. Now, this update is available to many users, but only on the web version of Gemini.
