Remind The Young Generation Not To Just Rely On Knowledge, JK Gives Examples Of Chairul Tanjung

JAKARTA - Vice President 10th and 12th of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) reminded the younger generation that living in the world is not enough to rely solely on controlled science, but must also use the right logic in all situations.

JK gave an example by telling a story about one of the richest people in Indonesia, Chairul Tanjung, who is a graduate of the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of Indonesia (UI), but can be successful without involving the knowledge he has learned.

"He is a dentist but as a banker and so on. This means that he uses his logic. He uses the logic and scientific abilities he has to develop," said JK during the 2024/2025 Even Semester Graduation activity at the UI Depok Campus, West Java, Thursday, which was confiscated by Antara.

JK said the ability of an intelligence person who is able to use his logic well will be able to solve various national problems, both in the political, economic, social, and cultural fields.

According to him, the ability of logic can improve thinking to carry out its duties as a good citizen.

Therefore, JK invites all young people to be able to take advantage of logic, one of which is by developing their abilities while working. Thus, this ability can be used to create new jobs for others.

"This is what is needed at most, to make work, to innovate with the ability, to make a business. It takes courage and innovation to start from scratch. No one starts from above, all from below," he said.

JK also invites all young people to always create added value in every work that is done after graduating from college.

"Use that ability for all of you to advance this nation. You must be a solution person, not a burden," he said.

"You have to compete, because our country is an open economy, it must compete! You have to think the best. We learn from developed countries, how China is strong in competing and working hard," said JK.
