The Story Of COVID-19 Special Public Cemetery Officer In Bandung, Willing To Postpone Eid Prayer To Bury The Body
BANDUNG - Officers at Cikadut public cemetery (TPU), Bandung City, West Java Diki said until the night of Eid al-Fitr there are still some bodies buried at the site.
Of course, the officer who originally wanted to gather with his family to celebrate a happy night or perform Eid prayer should postpone his wish.
"It does not want to have to be buried, in total on last night there were two bodies buried", Diki told Antara at TPU, Thursday, May 13.
Diki ensures that the funeral of COVID-19 victims uses strict health protocols. For today's conditions, TPU Cikadut began to be crowded by pilgrims.
Diki hopes that pilgrims do not slacken in applying health protocols such as wearing masks, keeping distance to wash their hands regularly.
"If the beginning of Ramadan there are pilgrims, but when the middle is quiet, then now start many more", said Diki.
Hundreds of pilgrims on Eid al-Fitr 1442 from various regions began to crowd the TPU. One of the pilgrims, Rahman (35) claimed that one of his family died due to COVID-19. Even so, he is grateful to still be able to make a pilgrimage on Lebaran this year.
"Alhamdulillah I can make a pilgrimage, of course, I also apply health protocols, hopefully, COVID-19 quickly passed", Rahman said when met at the location.
Currently, some graves in TPU Cikadut are excavated to be moved to other places. Even so, Rahman claimed not to move the family members' graves.
"God willing the tomb will not be moved, so here it is", he said.
