PGN Saka Supports Improvement Of Education Quality And Youth Capacity In Pangkah Working Area

JAKARTA - PT Saka Energi Indonesia (PGN Saka), an oil and gas upstream company that is part of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) Subholding Gas Pertamina, continues to show its commitment to supporting improving the quality of public education through the Community Development Program (PPM) around the Pangkah Working Area (WK), Gresik Regency, East Java.

Education is one of the main pillars of PGN Saka's PPM, in line with its strategic role as the foundation of the nation's progress and the development of quality human resources (HR). This program is focused on villages in Ring 1 area, covering four villages in Ujungpangkah District (Pangkahwetan, Pangkahkulon, Banyuurip, and Ngemboh) as well as three villages in Manyar District (Manyarejo, Manyarsidomukti, and Manyarsidorukun).

Improvement of Village Youth Skills is one of the flagship programs with improved skills and professional certification for village youth. Every year, about 35 high school graduates from Ring 1 area get welding training and training as well as office administration. All participants obtained official certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), so they have higher competitiveness in the world of work.

In addition, through the Saka Bakti Sekolah program, PGN Saka provided support to 41 basic educational institutions at the kindergarten, PAUD, Raudhatul Atthfal, and the Play Group in Ring 1 area. Support is focused on developing learning modules and the use of digital media for educators, including the provision of tablets containing interactive modules. In 2024, the use of digital media was expanded to 14 high school education institutions equivalent in the Ring 1 area, so students and teachers can be more adaptive to the development of learning technology.

In addition to formal schools, PGN Saka also carries out the Saka Bakti Pesantren program as a strengthening activity where it reaches 9 Islamic boarding schools. The support provided includes digitizing learning systems, developing Islamic boarding school entrepreneurship, as well as training on the use of technology, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning medium. The assistance distributed includes learning facilities, entrepreneurship equipment, learning content creation training, to the management of Islamic boarding schools websites.
