Contributing Pollution, 17 Trucks Not Passing Emission Test In The JIEP Cakung Area
A total of 17 trucks carrying goods were caught in an emission test operation in the industrial area of PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Cakung, East Jakarta on Wednesday 10 September 2025.
Vehicles that fail to test are threatened with imprisonment for up to six months or a maximum fine of IDR 50 million.
The joint operation was carried out by the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) together with the Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, and Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya.
This activity is a form of enforcement of Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2005 concerning Air Pollution Control.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (Kadis LH), Asep Kuswanto, emphasized that the selection of industrial estates such as JIEP is very strategic.
"Heavy duty vehicles are one of the biggest contributors to air pollution in Jakarta. Law enforcement is a form of the seriousness of the DKI Provincial Government in suppressing pollution and encouraging compliance, especially in the industrial and logistics sectors," he said when confirmed.
