Indonesia's FIFA Ranking Drops After Being Held To A Draw With Lebanon

The agenda of the September 2025 edition of the FIFA Matchday was completed by the Indonesian national team. A number of points were obtained, but could not boost the position of the Garuda Squad in the FIFA rankings.

In the match which took place at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, the Indonesian national team first faced China Taipei. As a result, a 6-0 victory was achieved in that inaugural match.

After that, it was Lebanon's turn to face. In Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the match was fierce and drew 0-0.

Quoted from Football Ranking, the two matches that led to Indonesia getting a total additional 3.43 points. The details are 3.25 points from the victory over China Taipei and 0.18 points from the results against Lebanon.

Indonesia's position in FIFA rankings had moved up to 117th in the world from the previous 118, after defeating China Taipei. However, after a draw against Lebanon, the Garuda Squad position fell by two places.

Indonesia is currently in the 119th position in the FIFA rankings. In total, Indonesia has 1,157.98 points.

The Red-White team is now five positions away from Vietnam, which is in the 14th position in the FIFA rankings. In fact, after the match against China Taipei, Indonesia is only two positions away from Vietnam.

In another match, Malaysia again experienced an increase in position in FIFA ranking after defeating Palestine. The Malayan Tiger Team is now in the 123rd position with 1,148.23 points.

While Thailand remains in 102nd position despite losing to Iraq in the final of the King's Cup 2025.

Indonesia was only able to improve its position in the FIFA rankings in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The Indonesian national team is scheduled to face Saudi Arabia on October 8, 2025, and Iraq on October 11, 2025, in Jeddah.
