Elon Musk's Neuralink Announces 12 People Have Received Brain Implant
Jakarta - Elon Musk's brain implant company, Neuralink, on Tuesday, announced that 12 people worldwide had received its brain implantation chip.
This number increased from an earlier announcement in June, when Neuralink's partner,turbatively Neurology Institute, stated that seven people with severe paralysis had received Neuralink implants and used them to control digital and physical devices through mind.
Collectively, patients have been using this device for 2,000 days with a total of more than 15,000 hours of use, Neuralink said via platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday.

In July, Neuralink announced it would launch a clinical study in the UK to test its brain implant chip, in collaboration with University College London Hospitals and Newcastle Hospitals to conduct the study.
The company raised USD 650 million in funding in June.
Neuralink began human trials in 2024 after overcoming security concerns raised by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which initially rejected the company's request in 2022.
