Idrus Marham: Prabowo Cabinet Reshuffle Prioritizes People's Professionality and Interest

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Idrus Marham, assessed that the reshuffle of the Red and White Cabinet carried out by President Prabowo Subianto was a form of response to the aspirations of the people. He emphasized that the cabinet reshuffle was carried out in stages with the main aim of strengthening government performance.

"I don't think so, but I believe he will respond to the aspirations that develop in the community. Of course it is impossible to implement it at once, it must be gradual," said Idrus when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

Idrus said that in the early stages President Prabowo had overhauled five ministers. He estimates that there will still be further evaluations, considering that a number of important positions are still vacant, including the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam).

"In the early stages there were five people. In the second stage, there will be continuous evaluation. Because Pak Prabowo has promised, when it comes to the interests of the people, we must do anything," he said.

According to Idrus, the cabinet reshuffle is not just a political matter, but a step to improve government performance to be more effective in responding to the demands of the people.

"Ministers have emerged from anywhere, whether from political parties or not political parties, it is oriented that the reshuffle is in order to improve future performance in accordance with the expectations of the community to help the people fulfill the interests of the people, the people's future is better," he said.

Regarding the issue of Puteri Anetta Komarudin who was predicted to be a candidate for Menpora to replace Dito Ariotedjo, Idrus acknowledged that there was a vote from within the party.

"I think there are voices like that, there is a mechanism like that, but it all depends on Pak Prabowo. If for example at the Ministry of Youth and Sports there are more Golkar cadres, thank God. But this is a challenge for Golkar to prove that he has the best cadres," he explained.

However, Idrus emphasized that the ministerial seat remains the prerogative of the president. According to him, the division is not based on the party's allotment system, but on the principle of proportionality and professionalism.

These are not rations. The President has a clear view, from proportionality to professionalism. We believe Pak Prabowo is very aspirational, even sensitive to paying attention to the aspirations of the people. He must have taken firm steps for the benefit of the people," concluded Idrus.
