James McAvoy Attacked By Drunk Man At Toronto Film Festival

JAKARTA - Actor James McAvoy experienced an unpleasant incident when promoting his first film as a director at the Toronto Film Festival. He was attacked by an unknown man at a bar on Monday, September 8.

Launching People, James McAvoy and his wife, Lisa Liberati attended the premiere for the California film Schemin which he directed on Saturday, September 6.

As he approached a bar called Charlotte's Room in Toronto, he was suddenly attacked by a man at 23.55. The actor tried to calm the situation while several people there tried to get the man out.

"James is gathering with his film producer and he just found out when he spoke to the staff there," a source told People.

There was a man who drank too much and was removed. James' back was behind him and the man immediately stabbed him in the back," he said.

James McAvoy remained at the bar and had time to laugh at the incident with the people around him and his staff.

On the other hand, James McAvoy directed the film California Schemin based on a true story about two Scottish men pretending to be Americans to become hip-hop stars.

The film is played by Seamus McLean Ross, Samuel Bottomley, Lucy Halliday, and Rebekah Murrell.
