Highlighting AI Development, Deputy Minister Tiko: ChatGPT Can Create A Presidential Regulation

JAKARTA Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo highlighted the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and has the potential to change many business sectors.

Tiko, as he is familiarly called, said that the presence of ChatGPT is proof of how AI can replace the work previously carried out by human resources.

Furthermore, Tiko said, ChatGPT can also make business proposals. In fact, it is not impossible that in the future the preparation of Presidential Regulations (Perpres) will rely on AI.

"So, the consultant business can be lost because ChatGPT can be tried, business proposals, and even make government policies. Maybe in the future we can also ask for Presidential Decree as well," he said.

According to Tiko, AI's increasingly sophisticated capabilities not only provide convenience, but also carry risks.

For example, deepfake, AI-generated phishing, to AI-based cyberattacks that have the potential to cause social and security disturbances.

"Side effects include deepfake, AI-generated phishing, and cyber attacks on the basis of AI are increasingly sophisticated and can spread various social issues as well as security and transaction issues," he said.

Therefore, said Tiko, the use of AI must be regulated with appropriate ethics and regulations. The goal is that people are protected from threats of security or hoaxes, while at the same time using technology optimally.

Apalagi, kata Tiko, generasi mendatang juga akan tumbuh dengan cara berpikir yang berbeda dari generasi sebelumnya. Sebab, mereka terbiasa bergantung pada AI.

“Supaya melindungi masyarakat, tadi dengan berbagai tantangan security maupun fake news, tapi juga bagaimana memanfaatkan AI dengan tepat. Karena kita harus sadar bahwa generasi nanti yang lahir di dunia AI ini, pasti brain-nya akan berkembang dengan cara yang berbeda,” ucapnya.

“Karena sekarang dia nggak perlu nanya bapak, ibunya lagi, nggak perlu nanya teman, tinggal di kamar aja nanya sama ChatGPT. Jadi ini akan membangun manusia-manusia Indonesia yang berbeda dengan manusia yang speknya seperti kita ini,” sambungnya.

Moreover, said Tiko, future generations will also grow in a different way from the previous generation. Because they are used to depending on AI.

"To protect the community, earlier with various security challenges as well as fake news, but also how to use AI appropriately. Because we must be aware that the next generation who was born in this AI world, the brain will definitely develop in a different way," he said.

"Because now he doesn't need to ask his father, mother anymore, no need to ask friends, just stay in the room and ask ChatGPT. So this will build Indonesian people who are different from humans whose specs are like us," he continued.
