Apple Extends Free Satellite Services On IPhone 14 And IPhone 15 To A Year
JAKARTA iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users can access satellite-based networks for free for longer periods of time. This happens because the duration of the service will be added by Apple.
Launching from The Verge, Apple will add free satellite connectivity durations on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 for another year. That way, users can stay connected to friends and family when they lose signal or are in remote places.
According to records in Apple's uploads, this time extension only applies to users who have activated their devices. The condition is that activation must be carried out before September 9 in countries that support satellite connectivity features.
Emergency SOS services with satellite-based network support have been present since last November 2022. This feature comes along with the release of the iPhone 14 series. At that time, Apple said that this feature would be free for the first two years.
Berdasarkan waktunya, layanan ini seharusnya berakhir pada 2024, tetapi Apple memutuskan untuk memperpanjang masa gratisnya hingga setahun. Dengan begitu, pengguna seharusnya mulai membayar pada November 2025.

However, with this extended duration, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users no longer need to pay until next year. With the extension of the free period of satellite connectivity services, users will begin to be charged in November 2026.
Since last year, Apple has started to improve the capabilities of the service. Users can send text messages to friends or family under any circumstances, either when there is a cellular network or when there is no network at all.
In addition, Apple also announced that the new Apple Watch Ultra 3 will feature satellite connectivity. This extends the reach of Apple satellite services to other devices.
