Pramono Says Jakarta Youth Don't Dare To Get Married Because Houses Are Expensive
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that many young people in Jakarta are afraid to get married. This is due to their concern that they cannot own a house that is increasingly expensive.
This was revealed by Pramono in the housing program credit socialization event with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas.
"The main problem in Jakarta is that there are a lot of young people who don't want to get married because the problem is housing," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.
This view, admitted Pramono, is also depicted in the film Home Sweet Loan which will air in 2024. In the film, people are afraid of getting married for fear of not being able to get housing credit facilities.
"So if this credit can be obtained by the public, whether it is the developer, whether the user, I am sure this will provide considerable benefits for the people in Jakarta," said Pramono.
Therefore, Pramono hopes that cooperation in providing housing credit facilities between the DKI Provincial Government and the central government, especially the PKP Ministry, can be optimized. So, in the future more Jakarta residents will be able to have decent housing.
"This housing program credit program must be utilized, especially for business actors in the housing sector and for all of us. Of course, the subsidies provided are a lot of convenience, so if we don't use them, we will definitely lose ourselves," said Pramono.

According to Ara, the preparation for providing housing in Jakarta has a fairly complete ecosystem, ranging from developers, providers of building materials, to people who are interested in housing loans, the majority of which are MSME actors.
"That's something extraordinary and the banks have confirmed earlier. Both from Himbara banks such as Mandiri, BRI, BTN, then also from their private banks, and also Bank Jakarta has also stated that they support this program," said Ara.
